As some of you may know from previous posts I am a member of my university's cheerleading team, EUCC Vixens. I tried out for one of the competition squads back in September and I was lucky enough to be given a spot on the team.
In February is was time to put all of our training to the test as we headed to Birmingham to compete in our first competition of the season, Future Cheer University Nationals. It was the first time I'd ever attended any sort of dance/cheer competition so I was quite nervous but extremely excited at the same time! We had three different teams competing over the weekend: Small Hip Hop which placed 4th, Large Pom which placed 2nd and Cheer All Girl Level 2 which placed 1st and then went on to receive the grand champs award for the whole cheer division as it was the highest score routine of the day! We also had several different stunt groups competing who also done extremely well. It was such a fun, but tiring, weekend and our success made us even more excited for our next competition!

After a few weeks of hard conditioning and perfecting our routines it was time to head to Telford for out second competition! We were in Telford for 3 days and competed in both BCA Universty Nationals and BCA National Championships. Again, we had three different teams competing as well as several stunt groups. All teams done extremely well and it was EUCC Vixens' most successful competition to date, we even made history!!!
Uni Nationals Results:
Pom - 3rd
Hip Hop - 1st (and grand champs of dance)
Cheer All Girl Level 2 - 1st (and grand champs of cheer)
Stunt Groups - 1st (and grand champs of stunt group)
We were the first team ever in the history of BCA to win grand champs for all the categories!!
National Championships Results:
Pom - 1st
Hip Hop - 1st (and grand champs of dance)
Cheer All Girl Level 2 - 1st (and grand champs of cheer)
Stunt Groups - 1st
This was honestly one of the best weekends of my life and I will definitely remember it for a very very long time! As cliched as it sounds the weekend's success made me so so soooo proud to be a Vixen!!
The success we had at both competitions definitely made all the hours of training and exhausting conditioning worth it. Being awarded 1st place is 100% up there with one of the best feelings in the world! I am SO sad that the season has come to an end. How I'm going to cope without training for 4 months I do not know!! I'm having withdrawal symptoms already, but on the plus side my body will get some well deserved rest. I'm so excited for next season already so that EUCC Vixens can continue taking over and make history all over again!
♥♥
